dda.281About the DDA:

The work of the Lewiston Downtown Development Authority is important to the future of Lewiston. Our goal is to revive and revitalize our town – to make it a destination where people want to shop and attend events.

Together, with your financial assistance, we've achieved so much!!

  • Installation of the "Welcome to Lewiston" signs.
  • Planting and caring for over 140 trees and 69 bushes throughout downtown.
  • Creation of the Lewiston Farmers Market.
  • Creation of the Pure Lewiston website and Look to Lewiston First campaign.
  • Maintaining the flower boxes downtown.
  • Creation of the Gabions with trees and flowers for Kneeland Street.

For 2017, we want to add 10 new Gabions with trees and flowers in each. These big tree and flower cages will be placed down the middle of Kneeland Street, creating a beautiful, visual break in the street. It will drastically enhance the look of downtown and create a reason for drivers to slow down and "take a look" at our downtown businesses.

Our board of directors includes:

  • Shawn Huston, Chairperson
  • Jerry "Bird" Smith, Vice-Chairperson
  • Bert Abbott, Treasurer
  • Chris McKenzie, Secretary
  • Michael Dombrowski, Township Supervisor
  • David Chapoton, Director
  • Mark Nihranz, Director
  • Dan Mullins, Director
  • Hunter Brand, Director
